As a medium, a movie is generally thought of as a one-time experience. We listen to favorite songs over and over, but most of us watch a typical film just once.<\/p>\n
Which makes it all the more extraordinary when we encounter a film that cries out for repeat viewing. Each of us has our own particular list of what I call “go-to movies” — those films we would happily seen again, and again, at the drop of a hat.<\/p>\n
There is a small list of movies that I have seen so many times that I have lost track of the number of times I’ve watched them. The following list is incomplete, but it is representative. Each time I see one of these films, I discover something new:<\/p>\n
\nAnnie Hall
\nBlade Runner
\nButch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid
\nCasablanca
\nCitizen Kane
\nDr. Strangelove
\nMary Poppins
\nSingin’ in the Rain
