Today I read this rather astounding account in the NY Times. I’ve redacted a name here and there:<\/p>\n
\nWASHINGTON \u2014 President \u2591\u2591\u2591\u2591\u2591 on Sunday shrugged off the brutal dismembering of Jamal Khashoggi, a Washington Post columnist, just days after a United Nations report described how a team of Saudi assassins called Mr. Khashoggi a \u201csacrificial animal\u201d before his murder.<\/p>\n
The U.N. report urged an F.B.I. investigation into the slaying. But in an interview with NBC\u2019s \u201cMeet the Press,\u201d Mr. \u2591\u2591\u2591\u2591\u2591 said the episode had already been thoroughly investigated. He said the Middle East is \u201ca vicious, hostile place\u201d and noted that Saudi Arabia is an important trading partner with the United States.\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
My very first thought when I read this was: “Oh, that Adolf. Such a scamp. He does have his vicious little ways, doesn’t he? But hey, what can you do? Germany is an important trading partner with the United States.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
