Just around now, near the end of November,
\nAs I am enjoying the Thanksgiving cheer
\nI take a few moments and try to remember
\nSeventy five million who used to live here<\/p>\n
We feel that our story’s important and mythic
\nA reason for pride and for great celebrations
\nBut dating on back to the Paleolithic
\nWe’re only the latest among many nations<\/p>\n
History’s fickle, and keeps moving on
\nAnd one day this land will have somebody new
\nIn the future, my friends, when we are all gone
