Descartes said “I think, therefore I am,”
\nWhich can lead to a tough philosophical jam,
\nFor if thinking precedes our existence, of course
\nThat’s putting Descartes before the horse<\/i><\/p>\n
Because all of our thinking is done in our brain.
\nYet back when he said that, it wasn’t insane
\nTo think of the parts as much less than the whole
\nIf everyone has their own God-given soul.<\/p>\n
But then there arose a new view of reality
\nIn direct opposition to just this duality.
\nGod was kicked out, replaced by psychologists
\nAnd a new breed of thinkers called phenomenologists<\/p>\n
<\/i>Who made quite a meal out of Descartes’ defeat.
\nNow the spirit is served only after the meat
\nAnd everything’s changed just by flipping the link.
