Two minnows once met in a little old stream
\nOne minnow asked “Is this all a big dream?”
\nThe other one, thinking a moment, replied
\n“Please let us not be too quick to decide.
\nFor if ’tis all a dream, then we’re not really here.
\nAnd that would not bode very well, so I fear.”<\/p>\n
Just then a pickerel floated by slow,
\nAnd he said in a voice most impressively low
\n“Young minnows, I happened to hear you two speak,
\nGood news! I can give you the answer you seek.”
\n“Oh tell us, good pickerel!”, so they exclaimed,
\n“We are eager to hear our existence explained!”<\/p>\n
“It is simple,” he smiled, “Yes of course you are real
\n“Which is why you will make for a nice little meal.
\n“And what better way to explain nature’s laws?”
\nThen he swallowed them whole, with a snap of his jaws.
\nBut alas, they were not such a succulent dish,
\nFor he vanished as soon as he ate the two fish.<\/p>\n
Oh this world is unkind, and this world is unfair
\nAnd those minnows, it turns out, were not really there.
\nThe pickerel really had got it quite wrong
\nFor sometimes we find, in plain sight all along,
\nIn the seeds of our questions, the answers we seek,
\nAnd everyone knows little fishes can’t speak.<\/i><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
