But YouTube is not a social media platform.<\/p>\n<p>YouTube is a streaming service. People put up original content, and other people can comment on that content.<\/p>\n<p>I am confused. If a streaming service can be categorized as a social media platform, then pretty much <i>anything<\/i> could be categorized as a social media platform.<\/p>\n<p>The World Wide Web itself is a place where some people put up original content, and where other people can comment on that content. The New York Times is also a place where people put up original content, and other people can comment on that content.<\/p>\n<p>Does this mean that the World Wide Web and the New York Times should be classified as social media platforms?
