Today is an important day in invention history. On this day in 1879, Thomas Edison famously applied for a patent for his design for an incandescent lightbulb.<\/p>\n
Somebody once told me that Edison actually invented the lightbulb so that people would stay up all night listening to his phonograph.<\/p>\n
