I did the math

Let’s look at just one of the many cruel and destructive acts of our current president. Apparently he does these things just to try to create the illusion that he is some kind of strongman.

In this case, he has ordered about $650,000,000 in NIH funds to be withheld from Harvard researchers, in the name of “fighting antisemitism”. I did the math, so you won’t have to.

On average, these grants support about $65,000 for each researcher (including the overhead needed to support necessary lab equipment and supplies). Which means about 10,000 researchers have been put out of commission by this one move.

Also, about 20% of U.S. researchers in this field are Jewish. So this directive is destroying the work and careers about 2000 highly functioning and hard working Jewish scientists. All in the name of “fighting antisemitism”.

Of course the effects of this cruel exercise in hypocrisy don’t end there. Pulling the plug on so much leading medical research will lead to a sizeable uptick in many preventable diseases, from Alzheimer’s to childhood cancer.

I can think of only one silver lining. Your mother suffering from preventable Alzheimer’s will be too far gone to realize that one of her grandchildren is dying from a preventable cancer.
