Killing your own supporters, for fun and profit

So now the creepy reality show idiot has decided to go out of his way to create a two-tiered system of healthcare. The poor, the infirm — many of the very people who voted for him, expecting something much better than they got — are the victims here.

Most people who have money, power, privilege, will be just fine. In other words, everyone he knows.

But if you aren’t the “right sort” of American — if you were not born to privilege and power, if you’re a working class citizen struggling to get by — then you won’t be covered for maternity leave, or for pre-existing conditions, or for mental health issues, or if you sustain a serious injury.

The message is extremely clear and unambiguous: If you are not a person of privilege in this country, then you are now considered a lesser human being. Your life simply isn’t important, and nobody really cares if you or your family get sick or die.

I wonder how many of the people who voted for this moron realize what he is doing to them and their children?

  1. I am worried that they will be suffered badly.

I think many see the similar patterns in the world. The world is changing, new problems are arisen. Many people feel something wrong (including myself), but they don’t know the solution (including myself). So people jump to a pseudo-solution (this I don’t want to be the part of it).

In the past, a simple solution was discrimination or to blame others. There was something wrong in the society, then someone discriminated some people, killed them, took the money from them. Or blamed neighbor, killed them, took the money from them. This algorithm has a flaw. For the first case, to keep one set (e.g., a country), divide the set to two subsets via discrimination, eliminate one of the set and took the money from them, repeat until whole country was eliminated. Blaming-neighbor-method has also a similar flaw: one neighbor defeats you or no neighbor to blame remains.

This eating-your-body-algorithm never sustains by the design. But this solution’s problem is it seems work for the first iteration. You can eat your leg or your hand once, but what’s next?

This time the poor (against rich) was chosen to be purged. But this time, these poor side believes the rich side will save them. It seems they don’t see that they are also discriminated. I have a problem to understand why they don’t see this. But it seems this belief is strong. Thus, even this Trumpdoesn’tcare passed, this belief continues. We need to think why this belief sustains. It is easy to say some people are stupid, but I think they are not stupid, there must be a reason. Moreover, I think we should not think they are just stupid. It is dangerous to think like, “They are just stupid, let’s stop thinking about the problem, we cannot help”. If we do, then we miss the real problems.

I don’t know the solution, so I sometimes want to jump to any wrong and simple solution since it is easy. But I could not find an easy solution so far. Thus, I worked to help education and teach math to some kids at my free time, since for me this (improve education) is only the real solution. But I know it will take many years, it may also fail. So I welcome a simple solution, but I don’t see such thing exists.

I wonder that does anyone feel the similar?

  2. Hitoshi, I thought that was a very logical and should I say algorithmic-ally inspired feeling. Scapegoating is not (probably never) the solution. However, perhaps people and human nature has evolved to take the computationally easy route.
